Microsoft

NIIT's strategic alliance with Microsoft has positioned the training major as the latter's Premier Education and Training partner in India. NIIT and Microsoft have shared a deep and long association over the last many years:

• NIIT was the first independent courseware developer for Microsoft outside of USA.
  
  
• NIIT's Microsoft Online Training site on NIIT NetVarsity is the only site from India which prepares software professionals on globally sought after Microsoft technologies through a delivery methodology that's centered around "any time, any place" learning.
  
  
• NIIT has the oldest and largest network of Microsoft Certified Technical Education Centers (CTECs) in India.
  
  
• NIIT is the first official Microsoft Certified Trainer eligible to certify faculty who can train in a CTEC.
  
  
• NIIT has produced the largest number of Microsoft Certified Professionals in India-over 28,000 so far.

Powerful Partnerships

Strong alliances with equally strong partners has been the hallmark of NIIT's education and training strategy. NIIT's academic allies are its key strength, creating a win-win situation for both parties concerned. The alliances have been welded under the aegis of the NIIT Academy (NA), a non-profit educational trust operational in India since July, 1998. NA has successfully forged academic alliances with select universities from USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand.

NIIT-Foreign University alliances: unique flavor

The alliances between the two educational providers-the university as the degree granting provider and NIIT as the non-degree granting provider-constitute a move in the right direction considering the imperatives of higher education in the 21st Century.

• They represent a formal arrangement by which a special connectivity is created between the two educational providers.
  
  
• This connectivity is the hallmark of NA-Universities alliances whereby NIIT Career Programs have been accorded a status, which a University normally gives only to the offerings of another University.
  
  
• The purpose of these alliances is to create access to a degree of a University through the device of "admission with advance standing" for all the students of NIIT Career Education located anywhere across the globe.
  
  
• The alumni of NIIT can cross over to the degree path of the partnering university at the end of any NIIT Award, of a minimum two-year duration, completed after 12 years of schooling.
  
  
• Alliances protect what NIIT alumni have already studied and compute the residual portion, which has to be completed in residence at these Universities for the award of a degree of the university. Thus, there is a net benefit to alumni in terms of saving of time for studies abroad and direct costs of international education.
  
  
• Selection norms: The NA does the academic filtering of the candidates by acting as a mediator between NIIT and the partnering universities. This is a free alumni service by NA. The operation of the selection process is authorized by specific and individual MoUs formulated by the NIIT Academy with each University.
